How to Keep Students Safe in School during COVID-19
Here are some ways to help stay safe in schools according to experts like the CDC. Currently, most of the parents want to know how their children can go back to school safely during these times.
In this article, we will discuss a list of some things that every school should focus on if their schools are going to re-open soon.
1. Social Distancing
Physical distancing is a great way to stop the spread of coronavirus. One person needs to maintain a 6 feet distance from another person if they want to spread of coronavirus.
Moreover, following physical distancing rules are necessary if the people are not wearing any face coverings. So schools should create an environment in which students can easily make 6 feet distance from one another.
Not only students but school teachers and other staff should also follow the physical distancing rules; otherwise, this deadly virus will spread very quickly among the students and the school faculty.
2. Temperature Checking
Schools cannot do the COVID testing for all students because it is very expensive as well as time taking process. But they can do the temperature check of the students frequently.
By checking the student's temperature, schools can quickly identify students with fever or other symptoms of illness. If anyone has a cough, fever, or any other symptom of illness, then the school can send these students for a COVID checkup.
Furthermore, schools should advise every student and teacher that if they have any symptoms of coronavirus, then they did not need to come to school.
3. Wear Masks
Masks are very effective in stopping the spread of coronavirus. So both students and teachers should use face masks, especially in places where it is challenging to follow physical distancing rules.
In schools, both students and teachers need to interact regularly, so they must wear the N95 or KN95 mask, which acts as a barrier between infected and infected persons to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Moreover, schools should buy these masks in bulk and provide these masks to school staff and, if possible, then to students too.
4. Frequent Hand Washing
Washing your hand frequently with soap and water is a great way to stop the spread of COVID-19. If it is not possible to wash your hands with soap and water, then you can use a hand sanitizer too to clean your hand.
Moreover, it is not possible to provide soap and water in every class. But the school can easily arrange hand sanitizers which students and teachers can use to keep their hands clean.
5. Buses and Playgrounds
Buses and playgrounds are the most crowded place in school. So you should create some strict rules for the bus that includes every student and bus driver should wear a mask. If possible, then try to put one student on each bus seat so they can easily follow the social distancing rules.
Schools should encourage students to go and play in playgrounds, but the schools should make sure that they allow the students in small groups to go and play in the playground.
If the schools in your state are going to open soon, then make sure to follow the above five tips to keep both students and teachers safe from coronavirus.
